Cranberry announces student meal program

Cranberry School District has announced it has received approval to implement student meal service during the school closure.

Beginning Thursday, families will be able to receive a grab and go breakfast and lunch for all children 18 and younger.

The following guidelines have been established for the distribution program:

– Pick up will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at the Cranberry School District maintenance building beside Griffin Phyllis Ford in Seneca, The distribution follows U.S.D.A. requirements.

Students must be present in the vehicle during food distribution.

– Each student is eligible to receive one breakfast and one lunch each day.

– Meals will be perishable and are intended to be consumed or refrigerated as soon as possible.

– All meals will meet or exceed U.S.D.A. nutritional requirements for students.

– Parents and students are to remain in their vehicle during distribution. Congregating in the parking lot or anywhere else on the property is prohibited. There will be no access to the building.

– Participation will be monitored closely so adjustments to the program can be made if necessary.
