Cranberry Festival has lots to offer

The Cranberry Festival will be held at Morrison Park of Seneca from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15.  Pre-festival events will be held during the week before the festival.

The CASA Berry Cutest Pet Photo Contest will accept a maximum of 40 pet pictures. Entries must be submitted via email to venangocasa@gmail.com or by mail to 206 Seneca St Suite 35, Oil City. To vote, people may visit Tractor Supply or visit www.casaofvenangocounty.org. There are prizes for the top three pets. Winners will be announced during the festival.

A kid’s movie night will be held 6:30 p.m., Wednesday at The Movies at Cranberry of Cranberry Mall.  The film to be shown will be Disney Pixar’s Coco.

There is no cost of admission.  Attendees will be seated until the theatre is at capacity.

The Cranberry Festival king and queen talent and crowning ceremony will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Seneca Volunteer Fire Hall, 1052 Main St, Seneca.  The fee of entry is $1.

The Cranberry Festival Picnic Lunch will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14 at CS Technologies Plus, 2803 State Route 257, Seneca. There will be prizes and free refreshments.

The fifth annual Cranberry Festival Corn Roast at 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 14, at 4 Your Car Connection, 7082 US 322, Cranberry.  There is no cost of entry.

The Cranberry Festival is jam packed with events, activities and entertainment.

Saturday, Sept. 15
10 a.m. — Sand Volleyball Tournament; co-ed teams of four; registration is $20; register by calling 676-2000.
11 a.m. — Pickleball clinic and open play; clinic by Kirk Frost; equipment provided.
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. — Basket and prize drawing.
10 a.m. to 7 p.m. — Food fest.
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. — Arts and crafts show.
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. — Car and motorcycle cruise in; best in show will be awarded.
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. — Free children’s games and events; at the Children’s Area; face paint, hair spray, petting zoo, balloon art, spin art, snow cones.
11 a.m. — “Kid’s Workshops”; Children’s Area.
11 a.m. — Teddy Bear Clinic; experts repair stuffed animal toys.
11 a.m. — Cranberry Bake Off; deliver to gazebo area; judging at 11:15 a.m.; winners announced at 12:30 p.m.; baked goods will be sold to benefit festival.
Noon to 5 p.m. — “Hunt for Cranberry Red”; scavenger hunt checklist at food ticket booth.
2 p.m. — Backwoods Olympics; prior registration required; cost is $5; prizes, medals.
7 to 9 p.m. — Touch-a-Truck; Cranberry Mall; trucks and heavy equipment for kids to play with and explore.
7 to 11:30 p.m. — Seneca Lanes Rockin’ Bowl; Seneca Lanes, 2771 State Rt. 257; free bowling and shoe rental from 7 to 9 p.m.; 9:30 to 11:30 p.m. light show, live music, $5 per person and free shoe
rental.
