On Nov. 7, Cranberry High School senior Alania Hogue committed to Fredonia University of New York to continue her softball career in the upcoming 2023 season.

Hogue has been playing softball since she was five years old and has continued to make it one of her life’s greatest passions.

Over the past thirteen years, Hogue has played first and third base as well as being a pitcher on several championship teams for travel softball.

Additionally, she had the opportunity to help send her high school team to district finals.

This resume led to being selected mostly for her ability to impressively field her position pitching.

Coaches Glenn Barcinas, Rod Sheffer, Chrissy Shumaker, and Martin Coe were all able to attend Hogue’s signing.

At the ceremony, Hogue explained that she “loves the opportunity to represent my community as a college athlete” and “feels like all of her hard work over the years had finally started to pay off.”
