Emlenton man facing child porn, corruption charges

Several charges have been filed against an Emlenton man for allegedly sending inappropriate text messages to a teenage girl.

A criminal complaint filed through district judge Patrick Lowrey’s office said Trooper Paul Swatzler with Franklin state police interviewed the 16-year-old girl at her home in May 2016.

She told Swatzler that in late summer/early fall 2015, she and 29-year-old Samuel Guiste had begun texting each other and it became sexual in nature, the complaint said.

The girl said Guiste sent her nude photos of himself, asked for her to send him nude photos and asked for sex, the complaint said.

She said she never sent Guiste any pictures and she deleted what he had sent to her, the complaint said.

Guiste was interviewed by Swatzler on Sept. 15 and he admitted to texting the girl about sex, the complaint said.

Guiste later told Swatzler that the situation was something that got out of control, even though he didn’t specifically remember any specific messages that were sent, the complaint said.

Guiste also said he had sent inappropriate photos to multiple woman over the years, the complaint said.

Charges filed against Guiste include felony counts of unlawful contact with a minor and contact/communication with minor – sexual abuse, in addition to one count each of child pornography and corruption of minors.

Guiste was arraigned Friday before Lowrey and released on $15,000 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing has been tentatively scheduled for Wednesday in Venango County Central Court.
