Hearing scheduled on Cranberry, Rockland precincts

From staff reports

A public hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday in the Venango County Courthouse to consider changing some voting precincts.

A legal advertisement published Tuesday notes the county is considering consolidating precincts in Cranberry and Rockland townships. What those changes may be will be outlined at the hearing.

Cranberry has four polling places and Rockland has two polling sites.

The hearing, open to the public, will be held in courtroom two in the courthouse.

The polling places in Cranberry Township include Victory Heights United Methodist Church, Heckathorn United Methodist Church, the Cranberry Township building and the Seneca Volunteer Fire Department social hall.

The Rockland Township polling locations are at the Rockland fire hall near Kennerdell and the new Life Community Chapel on Route 322.

The consolidation of voting precincts is determined by population shifts.

In changing the configuration, some precincts are expanded in terms of geographic size.
