Man accused of breaking into OC home

An Oil City man is facing charges for entering a house on Colbert Avenue and then trying to break in to several other nearby homes while he was intoxicated.

Oil City police said in a criminal complaint they were called late Monday afternoon to the 700 block of Colbert Avenue where Romero Donald, 28, had tried to kick in the doors of two homes.

Police found Donald on the porch of one of the homes and he admitted he had been drinking, the complaint said.

While at Colbert Avenue, police were approached by a woman who lived in a neighboring house, and she said Donald had entered her residence and thrown things around in the kitchen, the complaint said.

The woman and her two-year-old child fled the house to a neighboring apartment, according to the complaint.

After Donald left the woman’s house she returned and locked the door, then a short time later Donald came back and tried to get into her house again, the complaint said.

Donald was charged with three felony counts of criminal trespass-break into structure, a felony count of criminal trespass-enter structure, misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief, terroristic threats and disorderly conduct and a summary count of public drunkenness.

He was placed in the Venango County jail after being unable to post bail, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled March 22 in Central Court.
