Pitt-Titusville earns 3 regional awards

From staff reports

The University of Pittsburgh at Titusville recently received three awards from the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA) Mid-Atlantic Region.

The campus received the Outstanding Program Series Award, in conjunction with the University of Pittsburgh’s Year of Pitt Global. The purpose of the programs was to educate the campus and Titusville communities about the importance of diversity.

The Outstanding Civic and Community Service Program recognized the campus’s work in the community during Pitt Make a Difference Day. Students, faculty and staff assisted with projects in October at Drake Well Museum, the Ida Tarbell House, Benson Memorial Library and at Titusville YWCA’s Fall Festival.

Pitt-Titusville also received the Outstanding Multicultural Program for hosting performances by the Taikoza East Winds Ensemble and calypso band Ewabo Caribbean Trio, which both featured drums from different countries. The interactive programs exposed members of the campus and Titusville communities to unique and culturally stimulating performers.

The awards are given annually to NACA member institutions in the Mid-Atlantic Region, which includes schools in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, metro Washington, D.C., and Ontario.
