Regional College expands to Franklin

From staff reports

The Northern Pennsylvania Regional College has announced the opening of a new instructional location in Franklin for the beginning of the 2022-23 academic year.

The new site is the Galena Building at 1140 Liberty St., Suite 100. The building features several classrooms in addition to faculty and staff office space, according to a press release from the college.

This expansion in Venango County will bring a new academic location for students, while Venango Technology Center focuses on delivery of workforce development offerings in this part of the college’s service region, the press release said.

The Franklin location benefits students, particularly from the Venango and surrounding Crawford County areas, with dual-enrollment students from Crawford Central School District now having an additional classroom option close to them.

Dual enrollment is an early entry program at the college for students who are concurrently enrolled and pursuing coursework at both the college and their local public school district, homeschool or other online secondary education entity, the press release said.

This new academic instructional location services all class offerings, including the morning options for students as the college continues to provide additional flexibility to students, according to the press release.
