Regional college names vice president

From staff reports

Northern Pennsylvania Regional College announced the appointment of Linda M. Fleming as vice president for academic and student affairs, according to a news release from the school.

NPRC provides education to a nine-county region: Venango, Forest, Crawford, Warren, Cameron, Elk, Erie, McKean and Potter.

Fleming will lead the college’s academic departments, guide the development of new degree programs and serve the college to advance regional accreditation efforts, the release said.

She is a licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania and has more than 20 years of higher education experience in varying capacities, the release said.

Fleming, an Erie resident, most recently served as the dean for the College of Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences and as an associate professor at Gannon University.

“During her time at Gannon, Dr. Fleming had been a great advocate of NPRC through our educational partnership with the institution,” NPRC founding President Joseph Nairn said.

“She has the background and history of who NPRC is and where we came from, because she was present at the establishment of the Educational Consortium of the Upper Allegheny’s partnership with Gannon in 2012.”

NPRC is authorized by the state Department of Education to award “any type of diploma, technical or career training certificate, or associate degrees in the arts, sciences, technologies, or general education upon successful completion of programs approved by the board of trustees,” according to the release.

Class instruction is delivered via live, interactive audio-visual communication technology that connects classrooms across the region.
