Students learn about dangers of impaired driving

Franklin High School students took turns using impaired and distracted driving simulators as part of a National Teen Driver Safety Week presentation offered at the school Friday. PennDOT, the Northwest Regional Highway Safety Network, the Pennsylvania DUI Association, S.A.D.D., and local law enforcement were in attendance to educate local teens about the dangers of impaired driving. The week was first established in 2007, running from Oct. 16 to Oct. 22., when Congress decided to raise awareness about the number of car crashes involving teens and young people. (Submitted photo)
