From staff reports

Sugarcreek Borough police are continuing to investigate two thefts from coin machines on Rocky Grove Avenue.

Police said the first theft occurred in August and the second theft took place Jan. 14 at about 10:45 p.m.

Police said in both instances a man and woman walked into Carriage City Car Wash & Laundromat and put money in the machine and pulled it out with a string. The man served as the lookout while the woman operated the machine.

With the string in use, they were able to fish their own money back out of the machine while it spit out change, Sugarcreek police chief Matthew Carlson said.

They repeated the process until they had hundreds of dollars in change.

Sugarcreek police are asking anyone with information to call (814) 437-3703.
