Cold keeps some away, but many youth still enjoy fishing day

Cold temperatures in the low 20s led to a smaller turnout for Pennsylvania’s Mentored Youth Trout Fishing Day, with many popular spots sitting mostly empty. Still, a handful of young anglers braved the weather along Sugar Creek, where trout were caught throughout the day. Local property owners continued their tradition of welcoming families with free breakfast and a warm fire, emphasizing the event’s focus on community and giving kids a memorable fishing experience despite the chilly conditions.
