An additional $3,380 has been raised for the annual Friends for Food campaign, bringing the total to $14,785. The effort, organized by Community Services of Venango County and The Derrick/The News-Herald, helps provide Thanksgiving dinners for local families in need. Donations fund turkeys and meal items, with last year’s drive distributing 1,100 bags of food. This year’s distribution will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Rocky Grove fire hall. Contributions continue to come in from supporters across the region, many given in memory or honor of loved ones.
