The Colonel Drake Cultural Alliance has completed its fundraising efforts for the rehabilitation of Oil City’s Lyric Theatre with a $40,000 grant from Venango County, which came out of the county’s share of the state’s Marcellus Legacy Fund.
The construction portion of the $2.3 million project is estimated at about $2 million.
Final touches to the building plans are currently being completed for state and federal inspection before going out for bid. The current projected schedule calls for The Lyric Theatre to open in fall 2025.
Donations will continue to be accepted to cover operational costs during construction, the building “fit out” and soft goods not covered by public funds.
