The Mercer County Coroner’s Office and Mercer state police are investigating the death of 92-year-old Edward Wiszczor Sr., of Washington, Pennsylvania, as the result of an auto-pedestrian accident in the 1700 block of Route 19 in Fairview Township.
According to a news release from Mercer County, Wiszczor was approaching Route 19 on Sunday at about 7:05 p.m. from the west berm and did not observe a vehicle traveling south and entered onto the highway, where he was struck by the oncoming vehicle.
Wiszczor was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:30 p.m. by Mercer County Chief Deputy Coroner Robert L. Snyder as the result of multiple blunt force trauma. His death was ruled accidental.
