OC, Franklin announce street sweeping schedules

Street sweeping schedules next week in Oil City and Franklin have been announced.

Here is a rundown:

Oil City

Monday – Darr Street, Mayer Street, Cowell Avenue, Smedley Street and Wyllis Street

Tuesday – Moran Street, Innis Street (Front to First), Lincoln Street (Front to Third), Division Street (Front to Third) and Reed Street (Front to Third)

Wednesday – Central Avenue, West Sixth Street, West Seventh Street and West Eighth Street

Thursday – West Third Street, West Fourth Street and West Fifth Street

All vehicles must be off the posted streets by 7:30 a.m. the day of sweeping. Vehicles not moved will be ticketed and possibly towed.

Franklin

Monday – third shift: Gurney Road side of Franklin Heights; first shift: Miller Park area.

Tuesday – third shift: even side of Otter Street from 11th to 15th Street, odd side of Elk Street from 16th to 11th Street; first shift: odd side of 15th Street from Liberty Street to Elk Street, odd side of West Park Street, odd side of 12th Street from Eagle Street to Otter Street, odd side of South Park Street.

Wednesday – third shift: odd side of Otter Street from 11th to 15th Street, even side of Elk Street from 15th to 11th Street; first shift: even side of 15th Street from Liberty Street to Elk Street, even side of West Park Street, even side of 12th Street to Eagle Street, even side of South Park Street.

Thursday – third shift: even side of Buffalo Street from Seventh Street to 15th Street, odd side of Chestnut Street from 15th Street to 11th Street; first shift: both sides of New Street, Eagle Street, Myrtle Street, Sassafras Street, and Pearl Street.

Friday – third shift: odd side of Buffalo Street from 11th to 15th Street, even side of Chestnut Street from 15th to 11th Street; first shift: both sides of 12th Street Hill and 11th Street Hill, Elm Street from 10th Street to Hillside Ave.

Residents may see temporary “No Parking” signs. Sweeper breakdowns or inclement weather may cause rescheduling or delays.

Residents who wish to sweep their streets before the sweeper arrives may sweep anti-skid into piles in front of their property for pickup by city workers.

Paper biodegradable bags of leaves may also be picked up during spring clean-up.

To arrange for the pickup of these items, residents can call the city’s maintenance center from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
