3 men accused of ‘shooting up’ Two Mile restroom

Three Franklin men are facing charges for shooting up an outdoor restroom facility in Two Mile Run County Park in late July and early August.

Franklin state police said in a criminal complaint that Kyle Bevington, 18, Dakotah Brink, 18, and Gunnar Close, 21, used 12-gauge and 16-gauge shotguns on multiple occasions to do the damage in the restroom facility.

Police said they were called to the park on both July 31 and Aug. 3 after rounds had been shot into the restroom that caused heavy damage, the complaint said.

Then at about 2 a.m. on Aug. 5, a trooper on patrol at the park saw a vehicle with its headlights on parked near the outdoor restroom with Bevington in the drivers seat and Close and Brink as passengers, the complaint said.

The three men admitted to police that they were planning to shoot up the restroom that night but hadn’t yet when police arrived, according to the complaint.

When police searched the vehicle they found a 12-gauge shotgun and several boxes of 12-gauge shells as well as a receipt for the shells with Brink’s name on it, the complaint said.

The damages to the restroom were estimated at $6,450 and rendered the restroom “unusable,” according to the complaint.

Bevington, Close and Brinker were all charged with a felony count of criminal mischief-catastrophe and a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct.

They were arraigned Monday, and their preliminary hearings are scheduled Nov. 16 in Venango County Central Court.
