Broadband meeting is Monday at 4-H fairgrounds

From staff reports

Residents can still make plans to attend a meeting Monday that is focused on broadband access and availability.

The casual gathering is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Rainy Lynn Hall at the Venango County 4-H Fairgrounds on Mercer Road in Franklin.

The Northwest Commission, United Way of Venango County and Oil Region Alliance are partnering with the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority to engage the community in discussions about the broadband issue.

The partners are seeking information about access here to affordable, reliable broadband connectivity.

No personal information will be collected, and all are welcome. A meal catered by Country Grub will be provided to those in attendance.

The state received $1.16 billion from the BEAD program to develop and expand high-speed internet access in Pennsylvania. And public participation and feedback collected at this event will help determine how much of this funding will be allocated to Venango County.

A survey can be accessed by visiting https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PA_BCDA

People can also call the Northwest Commission at (814) 677-4800 x 100 on Monday for a paper copy of the survey.

Registration isn’t necessary but is helpful to plan meals.
