From staff reports

A Cranberry man was killed Thursday afternoon when his motorcycle collided with a truck at the intersection of 15th Street and Mercer Road in Sandycreek Township.

Franklin state police identified the victim as Gail E. Colvin Jr., 76.

Police said Colvin was traveling north on Route 62 on his 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle at about 2:10 p.m. and was approaching the intersection with 15th Street (Route 8).

Colvin then turned north onto Route 8 and into the path of a 2021 Ford F-150XLT truck driven by Steven J. Gracy, 61, of Franklin, police said.

Gracy’s vehicle struck the right rear tire of Colvin’s vehicle, and Colvin was ejected from his Harley, police said.

Colvin was pronounced dead by Venango County Coroner Christina Rugh due to blunt force trauma to the head and trunk, police said.

Sandycreek and Polk volunteer firefighters assisted at the scene, according to Venango County 911.
