Cranberry team wins Envirothon

Students from the Cranberry High School took first place at the Venango County Envirothon.

The winning team was known as the Swamp Donkeys and was made up of seniors at the school.

The team competed for the title against other area schools in subject areas of forestry, wildlife, aquatics, soils and agricultural management.

Another team made up of sophomores at Cranberry won second place at the competition.

The winning team will represent Venango County at the Envirothon state competition to be held May 23-24 at Pitt Johnstown University.
