Drake Well offers free admission to military personnel

From staff  reports

Drake Well Museum and Park joins with museums nationwide as a member of the Blue Star Museums Program, which provides free admission to active-duty military personnel and their families.

The free admission program is available for those serving in the United States military – Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, as well as members of the Reserves, National Guard, U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps, and up to five family members.

Drake Well Museum and Park has participated in the program since 2013.

“Drake Well Museum is excited to be part of this for another year,” said Melissa Mann, site administrator. “The opportunity to welcome military families to explore our exhibits and park is important. This is often an opportunity for families to reconnect between deployments and museums are great places to make memories,” she said.

Blue Star Museums is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in collaboration with Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums nationwide. This year’s participating organizations include fine art, science, history and children’s museums, as well as zoos, aquariums, gardens and more.
