Flag retirement ceremony to be held in Franklin

A flag retirement ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, in Franklin’s Bandstand Park.

The Flag Day event, which is open to the public, is being organized by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard, Franklin Elks Lodge No. 110, Gardinier Funeral Home, Cub Scout Pack 37 of Franklin, the Franklin Commission to Remember Our Heroes, the United Military Support Group and the VFW Jesse Greer Post No. 1835 in Franklin.

Multiple flags, including those collected from local cemeteries, will be properly retired during the ceremony. The Franklin Elks Lodge No. 110 will hold its annual Flag Day service as part of the ceremony.

Flags to be retired may be taken to the Gardinier Funeral Home, the VFW post or the Elks lodge by Tuesday, June 7.
