Man accused of fleeing during traffic stop

From staff reports

An Oil City man is facing fleeing charges in connection with an incident early Friday morning along Seely Avenue.

Oil City police said an officer attempted to make a traffic stop in the municipal lot on Center Street around 2:15 a.m. when the driver, Kenneth Fentem, failed to stop.

Fentem eventually stopped in front of a home in the 100 block of Seely Avenue, exited his truck and throw his keys toward the officer, police said.

Fentem began yelling and refused to stop when ordered, police said.

Fentem was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody, police said.

District judge Andrew Fish arraigned Fentem, who was later placed in the Venango County jail after failing to post $5,000 bail.

Charges filed against Fentem include fleeing and eluding, DUI, careless driving and disorderly conduct.
