A Titusville man has been charged in connection with the January burglary at the Blue Canoe Brewery in the 100 block of South Franklin Street.

Matthew Isaiah Miller, 19, was taken into custody Thursday without incident by Titusville police following an investigation of nearly five months.

The business was broken into Jan. 3 through an adjacent building and adjoining walls/doors.

A total of $4,626.65 was removed from a safe that was taken to another location before being opened.

Detective Dustin Legoullon had been actively working the case since the incident took place.

Multiple pieces of video and other evidence were examined, interviews were conducted and several discussions were held with the Crawford County district attorney’s office regarding the charges and the suspects, police said.

Miller has been charged with eight felonies, including three counts of burglary, three counts of criminal trespass, one count of theft by unlawful taking and one count of criminal conspiracy.

He was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Samuel V. Pendolino and placed in the Crawford County jail after failing to post $35,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing has been tentatively scheduled for 10 a.m. June 1.

Police said the investigation is continuing, and more charges against other suspects may be forthcoming.

Two separate burglaries also took place in the days that followed the incident at Blue Canoe Brewery, including at the Titusville Senior Center and Little Caesar’s Pizza on Spring Street.

Legoullon said both of those cases remain open.
