Man facing charges for hospital incident

From staff reports

A Honesdale man is facing felony charges in connection with an incident Saturday at UPMC Northwest in which the man is accused of assaulting hospital staff members.

Franklin state police said Justin Lagarenne, 31, lunged at a female hospital employee and began to push and shove her. He then struck a male employee who stepped between the two in the head and back multiple times and dug his fingernails into the man’s arm and neck, police said.

Police said another female employee attempted to intervene and was struck in the mouth.

Lagarenne was charged with six felony counts of aggravated indecent assault.

Meanwhile, Lagarenne is facing more charges in connection with a second incident Saturday in Franklin, according to online court dockets.

He was charged Tuesday with two felony counts of aggravated assault and two misdemeanor counts of simple assault for the Franklin incident.
