OCHS forms new drug and alcohol awareness club

Oil City High School has a new club this year called Teens Against Drugs and Alcohol (TADA) which is a newly registered Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) chapter in Pennsylvania.

The club was created by Cathy Tygert and currently has 60 members.

Club members agree to educate themselves, the school and the community on the importance of remaining drug and alcohol free. They agree to help raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse and to being a positive active force in their community.

The group sponsored the After Pink Out Football Game Dance Oct. 21. and is celebrating Red Ribbon Week Oct. 24 through 28.

All the proceeds will be donated to families in the community who are battling breast cancer.
