Police seek information on Barkeyville robbery

From staff reports

Franklin state police are asking for information on a robbery that took place at Arby’s in Barkeyville on Sunday evening.

At about 7:55 p.m. Sunday, Franklin state police said, a black man wearing a black hoodie, burgundy face mask, dark gray sweatpants and black shoes entered the restaurant at 1012 Dholu Road and purchased a fountain drink.

As the cashier completed the purchase, the man “lunged over the counter” and started removing cash from the open register, police said.

When the cashier attempted to stop the man by grabbing his arm, the man took a knife from his pocket and attempted to stab her in the arm, then exited the store with the cash and fled on foot in an unknown direction, police said.

The suspect is about 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 225 to 250 pounds, according to police.

Anyone with information pertaining to the incident or who might have witnessed anything is asked to contact Trooper Andrew Harriger at 814-676-6596.
