Police working on leads in Spanky’s robbery

Franklin state police said Friday they were continuing to search for the man who robbed the Spanky’s Tobacco World store on Riverside Drive in Cranberry Township at gunpoint Thursday.

Andrew Hagan, who is the lead trooper in the investigation, said Friday that police were continuing to work on leads. He added “there’s nothing to report at this time.”

The gunman entered Spanky’s at 1719 Riverside Drive at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday. Police said he was carrying a long gun and demanded, and was given, money.

The robber fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, according to police.

He was described as white, in his mid-20’s to early 30’s, around 6 feet tall with an average build, according to police.
