A second arrest has been made in connection with the January burglary at the Blue Canoe Brewery in the 100 block of South Franklin Street in Titusville.

Silas M. Yashinski, 20, of Harrisburg, was taken into custody Monday by the Harrisburg Police Department for allegedly breaking into the business on Jan. 3 through an adjacent building and adjoining walls/doors.

A total of $4,626.65 was removed from a safe that was taken to another location before being opened.

Detective Dustin Legoullon of the Titusville Police Department has been actively working the case since the incident took place.

Titusville police said in a press release that Yashinski was located Monday at his parents’ home in Harrisburg by phone, but he declined to return to Titusville.

Harrisburg police were contacted and officers immediately responded to the home to apprehend Yashinski before handing him over to Titusville police.

Yashinski has been charged with nine felonies, including three counts of burglary, three counts of criminal trespass, one count of theft by unlawful taking and two counts of conspiracy.

He was arraigned Tuesday morning before District Judge Amy L. Nicols and placed in the Crawford County jail after failing to post $50,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing has been tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, June 20.

Nearly three weeks earlier, Matthew I. Miller, 19, of Titusville was taken into custody for his alleged role in the burglary following a five-month investigation.

Miller is facing eight felonies, including three counts of burglary, three counts of criminal trespass, one count of theft by unlawful taking and one count of criminal conspiracy.

Miller was initially scheduled to have a preliminary hearing last week, but it was continued to Thursday at 1:30 p.m.

Police said the investigation is continuing, and more charges against additional suspects may be coming.

Two other burglaries also took place in the days that followed the incident at Blue Canoe, including at the Titusville Senior Center and Little Caesar’s Pizza on Spring Street.

Titusville police confirmed both those cases remain open.
