Slippery roads lead to several crashes

Heavy snowfall created some havoc for motorists on the region’s roadways Friday as numerous crashes were reported throughout the day.

Three accidents took place on Route 8 in the area of “radar valley” just outside Franklin, according to Venango County 911.

The first was a single-vehicle rollover just before 8 a.m. that did not result in any injuries.

State police in Franklin, Sandycreek volunteer firefighters and Community Ambulance Service responded to the scene.

Other accidents took place along Route 322 in Sugarcreek Borough, Allegheny Boulevard between Goss Gas and Electralloy, Cooperstown Road, the intersection of Kerr Road and Whitehill Road in Emlenton, Route 38, and Plum Hill Road.

The majority of the accidents came with reports of vehicles in ditches.

A few of the accidents required medical treatment for those involved, according to 911.
