Two badly hurt in Franklin crash

From staff reports

Two Franklin men were flown to UPMC Hamot in Erie Monday afternoon after an accident on Elk Street in Franklin.

Franklin city police said Kirk Tomlinson, 63, of Oil City, was headed south on 14th Street at about 2 p.m. Monday toward the intersection with Elk Street when a Jeep Liberty driven by Ronald Pastilock, 50, of Franklin, failed to yield to Tomlinson.

Tomlinson’s vehicle collided with the Jeep’s back passenger door, and Richard King, 51, of Franklin, a passenger with Pastilock, was ejected from the vehicle, police said.

Tomlinson and King both sustained severe injuries and were flown by STAT MedEvac to UPMC Hamot, police said.

Police said Tuesday both men were in stable condition.

Franklin firefighters and Community Ambulance Service personnel assisted at the scene.
