Venango home rehab program seeks more contractors

From staff reports

The Venango County housing rehabilitation program is seeking more local general contractors to include in its growing pool to conduct whole-home rehabilitation projects on privately-owned homes throughout the county.

The Venango County Regional Planning Commission administers the program.

The commission schedules inspections for homes of income-qualified program applicants and drafts the scope of work for each project.

Each homeowner then selects three contractors from the pool, and those contractors will receive bidding documents in order to solicit quotes and procure the needed service to complete the project.

The projects within the program are typically large-scale as the program’s goal is to rehabilitate each home by removing all known health and safety hazards, both inside and outside the home, in addition to any local building code violations.

Contractors must provide copies of their current contractor license, lead license and certificate of insurance.

Interested contractors may contact the Venango County l Planning Commission by phone at (814) 432-9547, by email at jsterling@co.venango.pa.us or by visiting the commission office in the county courthouse at 1168 Liberty St. in Franklin.
