A new Utica school for students with special needs is open and ready to accept referrals for students.

St. Stephen’s Utica, the newest of Glade Run Lutheran Services’s private K through 12 schools, opened Tuesday.

The new school is now accepting referrals from surrounding school districts that require out-of-school placement for students with behavioral health issues and/or autism spectrum disorders.

St. Stephen’s Utica is operating in the former Utica Elementary School at 3823 Academy St.

Lee Myford is the Utica school’s principal. Myford is certified as a school psychologist and principal and she has a superintendent’s letter of eligibility from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

Myford has previously worked as a director of education, director of pupil services and school psychologist.

Jill Manczka is the assistant principal. Manczka was most recently a director of communications and director of distance education and educational planning for Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV.

“This is such an exciting opportunity to bring together a professional team to serve students in our community,” Myford said. “I am looking forward to meeting local families and school districts and bringing the best resources from Glade Run to them at our Utica school.”

Referrals to St. Stephen’s Utica can be coordinated with Myford at lmyford@gladerun.org or by calling (814) 638-0142.
