Liberty Street Ale House closes in Franklin

The Liberty Street Ale House, located in the Quality Inn and Conference Center in Franklin, closed its doors for the final time Thursday.

Ale House owner Sarah Volk paused from cleaning out the space Friday afternoon and told the newspaper she has been dealing with a family situation and recently decided it was time to close the restaurant and bar at the hotel.

The Quality Inn remains open, and Volk said the Ale House was a tenant of the Quality Inn.

“We can not thank Franklin enough for being such an open and loving home to us the past 10+ years! We can not express how much we will miss you all!!” began a post on the Ale House Facebook page Friday afternoon announcing the closure.

The post continued, “To all the amazing staff, past and present, words can’t begin to express our deepest appreciation and love for each of you! You will always be family to us. Please continue to show love and support for all the wonderful and unique places that make our town so great!”

The Facebook post quickly racked up many comments from patrons saying how much they had enjoyed their time at the Ale House, complimenting the food and service and saying the establishment would be missed.

Any gift card purchased in the past 90 days can be refunded to the original method of payment or replaced with a Franklin Retail Association gift card of equal value, Volk said.

The Ale House opened about 10 years ago under the ownership of Matt Hoss. Volk was the bar manager when the establishment opened.

The bar was known for its extensive menu of handcrafted beers.
