Oil City schedules tire recycling program

Oil City will hold its annual tire recycling program from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, at the city garage on Regan Drive in Siverly.

Only noncommercial, rimless tires will be accepted, according to the city. There is a limit of eight tires per city residential customer. There is a fee of $2 per tire over eight.

Proof of residency will be required.

In addition, a dumpster will be available for items the garbage company does not take at curbside, such as scrap metal and construction material (e.g., lumber and plaster board from small construction projects).

No household hazardous chemicals, such as motor oil, paint, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, etc., will be accepted.
