Penncrest School District names superintendent

From staff reports

The Penncrest School District in Crawford County, which also serves Plum Township in Venango County, on Monday hired Timothy Glasspool as its new superintendent, according to published reports.

Glasspool, the published reports said, has 20 years of experience in education, and his most recent job was as superintendent of the Plum Borough School District.

According to the published reports, Glasspool was placed on paid leave by Plum schools in 2016 after an Allegheny County grand jury investigation of a sex abuse scandal in that district.

Three former teachers were handed prison terms for sexual assault and other charges in connection with innapropriate contact with students, the published reports said.

Glasspool was reinstated after a report determined there was no legal justification to fire him, according to the published reports. He left the Plum School District in 2017.
