Rachele Heasley, a member of the Oil City Junior Schubert Club, has been awarded the 2017 Schubert Club Scholarship at the Schubert Club’s National Music Week program held May 8 at the Belles Lettres Clubhouse.

The scholarship award in the amount of $1,200 is awarded annually to a high school senior who has been a member of Junior Schubert Club for at least two years, has been accepted into an accredited college or university as a music major, and has fulfilled all scholarship requirements.

Rachele is the daughter of James and Julie Heasley of Oil City. She is a senior at Oil City High School. Rachele completed requirements for the four-year scholarship by auditioning at the Schubert Club Student Program on March 6. She submitted required scholarship documentation and performed at the Schubert Musical and Literary Club’s National Music Week program.

Rachele was accepted as a music major in the honors program of the D’Angelo Department of Music at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania.
