From staff reports

According to a Venango County 911 dispatcher, a tree fell on some power lines around 9 p.m. Sunday on Deep Hollow Road.

The dispatcher said the 911 center was receiving calls of lights flickering from Franklin, Oil City and Seneca.

The round-the-clock power center on Penelec’s website confirmed that 222 homes were affected in Venango County.

According to the website, Cranberry Township was the most affected with 159 homes without power. Forty-two homes in Franklin and 10 homes in Frenchcreek Township were also without power.

Oil City and Sugarcreek Borough both had fewer than five residents without power, and no other counties were affected by the power outages, according to the Penelec website.
