Venango County Fair starts today

The Venango County Fair starts today at the fairgrounds south of Franklin on Route 62. Here is this weekend’s schedule for the opening two days of the fair:

Today

Entry tags and numbers can be picked up at the fair office.

8 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Large animal entries arrival through the back entrance.

Noon to 3 p.m. – Registration for rabbits/poultry and all non-animal exhibits

1 p.m. – Mega truck & DOT mud fest Sponsored by A. Crivelli Auto Group – Mud Track

6 p.m. – Live music by High Above 80, Scrubgrass Stage

6 p.m. – Garden tractor pulls, Main Stage/Pulling Track

The Kent Family Circus will be in operation

Fairgrounds close at 11 p.m.

Sunday

Entry tags and numbers can be picked up at the fair office.

8 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Large animal entries arrive through the back entrance.

10 a.m. – Worship service – Slim Brothers – Log Cabin

11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Team roping presented by SL Productions – Kiwanis Bowl

Noon to 5 p.m. – Registration of rabbits/poultry and all non-animal exhibits

Noon – Mega truck & DOT mud fest sponsored by A Crivelli Auto Group – Mud Track

Noon – Lamb showmanship pointers with Heritage Farms – Phillips Arena

1 p.m. – Goat showmanship pointers with Heritage Farms – Phillips Arena

2 p.m. – Hog showmanship pointers with Heritage Farms – Phillips Arena

3 p.m. – Cattle showmanship pointers with Heritage Farms – Phillips Arena

4 to 5:30 p.m. – Live music by Echo Valley – Scrubgrass Stage

5 p.m. – Lantern night – behind the Pulling Track (take your own lawn chair) – Lanterns to the first 1,000 guests

5:30 p.m. – All 4-H animal exhibitors meeting – Phillips Arena

6 p.m. – Market animals weigh-ins – barns

The Kent Family Circus, Bear Hollow wood carving show and mobile Environmental lab (H2Oh! on the Go!) will also be featured.
