Woman life-flighted after hitting pole on Route 417

From staff reports

Franklin state police said a woman was life-flighted after a crash at about 4 p.m. Thursday near Barber’s Orchard on Route 417.

Police said Marisa J. Barker, 22, of Titusville, was traveling north, in a 2006 Ford Escape, when her vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons striking a ditch and then shearing a utility pole in half.

The crash caused a power line to go down across the road and emergency services to close Route 417, in Oakland Township for approximately two hours.

Barker was flown from the scene to UPMC Hamot by Stat MedEvac.

Oakland, Cooperstown and Rocky Grove fire departments, Lowry’s Towing, and Community Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
