OC man charged after drugs found in vehicle

From staff reports

An Oil City man is facing charges for having various illegal drugs in his vehicle Saturday in Oil City.

Oil City police said they pulled over William Fry Jr., 35, at the intersection of Wilson Avenue and East Second Street in Oil City at about 4 p.m. Saturday.

Police said Fry, who has a suspended drivers license, switched seats with a passenger after police initiated the traffic stop.

Police said the vehicle smelled like marijuana, and Fry admitted he had just smoked a “roach.”

Police said that after searching Fry they found just under $2,500, and they also found methamphetamine, amphetamine, marijuana and various items of drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Fry was charged with three felony counts of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, three misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor counts of use/possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana and misbrand any controlled substance and a summary traffic citation.

He was arraigned Sunday and lodged in the Venango County jail after failing to post $25,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled July 1 in Central Court.
