VA Dependency and Indemnity Compensation

VA Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC) are VA survivor benefits that are tax exempt. This means you wont have to pay taxes on your compensation payments. If you are the surviving spouse, child or parent of a service member who died in the line of duty, or the survivor of a veteran who died from a service-related injury or illness, you may be able to get a tax-free monetary benefit. To see if you qualify, contact a Certified  Veterans Service Officer. Even if the veteran has passed years ago, you may still qualify for compensation.
