Oil City, Franklin leaf pickups continue

Leaf pickups will continue next week in Oil City and Franklin:

Here is the schedule:

Oil City

Monday — East Second, East Third, East Fourth and Harold streets, Allegheny Avenue (East Second to East Third and East Fourth to East Eighth streets)

Tuesday — Englewood, Euclid, Wilson and Pennsylvania avenues, State, Pine, Walnut, Church, Imperial, Liberty and Grant streets

Wednesday — Graff, Stout and Plummer streets, Harriott, East Bissell and Bissell (Bishop to Harriot) avenues; Grandview Road

All cars must be off the posted streets by 7:30 a.m. Cars that are not moved will be ticketed and possibly towed.

Leaves should be raked/blown to the curb and not into the street.

Franklin

Monday — Random piles in Franklin Heights and Greentree, bagged leaf pick up throughout the city.

Tuesday — Even side of Otter Street from 11th to 15th streets, odd side of Elk Street from 15th to 11th streets, even side of Buffalo Street from 11th to 15th streets, both sides of 14th Street.

Wednesday — Odd side of Otter Street from 11th to 15th streets, even side of Elk Street from 15th to 11th streets, odd side of Buffalo Street from 11th to 15th streets, both sides of Franklin Avenue.

Thursday — No pickup

Friday — Bagged leaves only

Mechanical breakdowns or inclement weather may cause some delays or rescheduling.

Franklin residents are asked to rake their leaves to the edge of their front lawns, not on the street, for pick-up by the city crews.

The city will also be picking up paper biodegradable bags of leaves (no plastic bags) on Monday and Friday.

The city reminds residents to observe the temporary No Parking signs to keep from getting ticketed.
