Adult, juvenile charged in incident involving gun

An adult and a juvenile are facing several charges after allegedly pointing a rifle at residences around Oil City on Thursday afternoon.

According to Oil City police, officers were dispatched to the area of West Third Street and Hazel Place at approximately 3:30 p.m. after receiving a report of two males carrying a rifle and waving it at houses.

Upon officers’ arrival, both suspects ran from officers before they were located at a residence on Central Avenue, police said.

Police charged the adult suspect, Tanner Phillips, with misdemeanor disorderly conduct and corruption of minors. He was arraigned before District Judge Andrew Fish and released on $15,000 unsecured bond.

The juvenile suspect was charged with felony juvenile possession of a firearm and misdemeanor disorderly conduct. He was referred to juvenile court supervision and placed in juvenile detention.
