Office Bar in Franklin reopens under new management

The Office Bar in Franklin has opened its doors again in Franklin under new management.

After being closed for a time for renovations, the establishment held a well-attended soft opening Monday with a limited menu, with a full menu in the works to be added soon.

“We have a grand opening planned in the future,” said Jami DeGroat, who is restaurant manager until the liquor license transfer is complete from previous owners the Borland family, when she will become owner.

DeGroat, who also owns Casey’s Restaurant & Lounge in Oil City, noted that the menu at The Office is “not going to be Casey’s,” and it will serve lunch and dinner but not breakfast.

“We’re going to sell some salads and handhelds — we’ll have a local burger and local hot sausage sandwiches. We go to local farms for meat,” she said. “Local and real…it will be a small menu of more quality products.”

There will also be some appetizers that will be different than other offerings in Franklin, she said.

On Monday, the restaurant was still waiting on a few pieces of equipment to arrive, but by Wednesday morning the last piece of equipment had been installed, and “now we’re just getting the menus and printing them,” DeGroat said.
