Part of Seneca Street to close next week for crossing work

From staff reports

Seneca Street from Center Street to Veterans Bridge in Oil City will be closed next week, beginning Monday, for work on the railroad crossing at Seneca Street.

The crossing at Seneca Street by City Hall will be replaced, according to Danny DePasquale of the Western New York and Pennsylvania Railroad.

The road will be closed from Monday to Friday and the closure may extend into the weekend, Depasquale said. Paving will begin Thursday and finish Friday, he noted.

There will be a detour for local traffic only by Luther Place, Oil City police chief Dave Ragon said.

Ragon also said Veterans Bridge will not be closed next week and that PennDOT is not inspecting the bridge next week.

A sign in the downtown had indicated the bridge would be closed Monday.
