Greenways honors award winners

Several individuals and organizations were honored at the 2025 Annual Greenways Awards held in Cochranton, including Franklin resident Susan M. Hilton, who was named Volunteer of the Year for her dedication to environmental and trail-related initiatives since retiring from Clarion University. The Cochranton Area Greenways Effort (CARE) received the Greenways Neighbor of the Year award for their role in developing and maintaining local trails and hosting community events. Six agencies—including Crawford County, PennDOT, and DCNR—earned the Partners Award for their collaboration on a major trail and bridge relocation project in the county. The event celebrated ongoing efforts to enhance outdoor recreation and conservation, and nominations are now open for next year’s awards.
