Despite rainy weather, Oil City’s first-ever First Friday event drew a steady crowd to the city’s North Side, where more than 15 vendors and local shops welcomed visitors. The rain forced the band Tunes in a Bucket indoors to Double Play, but spirits remained high as families browsed vendor tents, children drew on sidewalks, and community members celebrated the lively atmosphere. The event, modeled after national First Friday celebrations, featured everything from fudge to chainsaw wood carvings and was organized by the Northside Business Association and Oil City Main Street Program. Organizers are already planning improvements for next month’s event to make it even more successful.
