Venango Region Catholic School gala set March 18

From staff reports

Venango Region Catholic School will host its annual Heritage Gala to benefit local Catholic education on Saturday, March 18, at Venango Catholic High School in Oil City.

The theme of the event is “An Evening Under the Big Top”, and the black-tie gala will feature dinner, dancing and live and silent auctions.

“We have a collective legacy of over 125 years of Catholic education in the Venango region, and the generosity of our guests, sponsors and advertisers is integral to protecting that history,” said Melissa Cyphert, the fundraising and event coordinator for the Venango Region Catholic School system.

“Our gala is one of our major fundraising events, and we want to build and strengthen our relationships with the donors and families who invest in our mission,” Cyphert added. “As a tuition-based school that is not funded by taxpayers, the support of our local community helps ensure that any family who wants a faith-based, values-centered education for their children can receive one.”

This year’s gala has a fundraising goal of $50,000 and is expected to welcome more than 200 guests. Proceeds will help support the school system’s operating expenses, including teacher salaries, student scholarships and building maintenance.

Seating can be reserved beginning in February and will be $75 per guest or $525 to reserve a table for eight.
