Senior Corps honors founding members

Plaques were placed on a pavilion at Oil Creek State Park by members of the Venango PA Senior Environmental Corps in memory of two of the group’s founding members, the late Ivan Pettit and the late David Irwin. Among those who attended a plaque dedication ceremony were, from left, park manager David Hallman, Michelle DeWoody of the county’s Older Adult Services program, Venango Conservation District manager Lance Bowes and VPaSEC chairman John Kolojejchick. Pettit and Irwin were instrumental in the work of the VPaSEC, including searching for abandoned oil and gas wells and monitoring streams in the county. (Submitted photo)
